I'm in love with juicing! The savory naturally sweet taste of fruit juice is better than any other drink you could buy! Add some ice and there's really no reason to splurge on a pricey Frappucino or smoothie. And the right energy-boosting ingredient makes me way more energized than caffeine. I came across this recipe courtesy of Free People's Healthy Juice Recipes. According to the Free People food blogger, carrot's beta-carotene is great for skin and eyes. Oranges, of course, pump up your immune system. And ginger gives you more energy!
Personally, I'm not a huge ginger fan -- but I wanted to see how it might blend with orange & carrot. I loved it! Just be conservative if you're not a huge fan of the spicy kick. Adding ice is a must, especially on a summer day!
The portions that Free People's blogger included is great for 3 people. I used half of the suggested portion size and that yielded 1.5 full glasses:
